A Texter may use free-form data boxes to fill in data received from a contact when enabled by a Program Admin. Your Workspace administrators can set free-form data items based on what data they need for each individual program. Examples of typical free-form data captured are:
- Corrected District
- Corrected State
- Email Address
- First Name
- Last name
- New Phone
The purpose of this function is to capture any updated information that a contact has given the texter. For example, if it’s assumed that a texter is contacting a voter in Wisconsin but the voter actually lives in Texas then the texter would update the voter info by adding Textas to a "Corrected State" data field in the free-form data boxes.
Entering the Data
A Texter will enter the necessary information into the Free-form data box located just under the recommended replies. Clicking on the blue "Edit Conversation Data Items" will open up the Free-form Data fields where you will be able to enter information gathered about your contact. As soon as you enter this information, it will be saved automatically.
Alternatively, you can add data to the free-form data fields by highlighting the desired text with your cursor. Once you've highlighted the text that reflects the data, you will see a blue 'Copy to Data Item' button appear just next to the text that has been highlighted. Adding this data will open up the Free-form data box and will save the data automatically.
